Community Access Program (CAP) The type of activities the CAP site offers are: We offer a Microsoft Office course that will help the youth get a better understanding of the power and strength of Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and Power Point. The CAP site is involved in career development through the use of the different career development tools, provides email, computer operation/software application, on-line job searches, on-line community and government information, Internet searches, security and navigation and community based activities to provide the information for the community site. We assist with resume writing and the completion of various forms and applications. In the past, Nunavut Youth Consulting has been the Internet Service Provider for Arctic Bay. We work with the community to promote e-commerce and government on-line. We collaborate with other community organization and groups to meet the mandate of Nunavut Youth Consulting. We also provide employment for youth by assessing various youth training/employment funds like the CAP Youth Internship program and Kakivak Youth Employment Program. CAP Site Location The Friends of the College CAP site is located in the Arctic Bay Nunavut Arctic College Community Learning Center. The college and Nunavut Youth Consulting own the computers. The college maintains the computer lab, cleaning services, heat and power. Site Connection Type The Friends of the College CAP Site have Ethernet cable to the hub, which then goes to a rotor and out of the community on the Digital Communication Network by Satellite. This service is provided and maintained by the Nunavut Department of Education and Nunavut Arctic College Hours for Public Access to the Friends of the College CAP site
